Ghost Town: Nevada

Off the beaten track, a little ghost town abandoned in the 1950's at the end of a short gold rush, is perfectly preserved by the arid air. There are still remnants of the house being occupied with things like clothes, cooking utensils and books scattered about the little shack. Although a little unnerving, it was strangely beautiful - a relic left in the middle of the desert.

Untitled Quilt: Newfoundland

This is a new quilt series i'm currently developing. I hope to do a breast-bearing quilt for each province of Canada, photographing them all in a quintessential 'Canadian' setting.

Calgarians and Their Birds

Walking around Calgary i've come across people out with their pet birds. I'm hoping I will find more bird owners taking their avian friends for a walk in the city.

The Way We Were

I stumbled across an amazing rug hooking exhibition in Inglewood, Calgary by The Saskatchewan Heritage Rug Hookers of Saskatoon. The themed show highlights the decline of the grain elevators in the province; once a common sight only 80 of these former agricultural relics now exist.

Tilting House; Medicine Hat, Alberta

I stumbled across this wee house whilst on a drive in the Prairies, Alberta. Perfectly preserved by the dry air, this dwelling had a haunting beauty to it. Like a snap shot capturing the house in mid-collapse, the impossible angle added to it's intriguing charm, like some kind of strange film set.....
